A series of pictures detailing the airworthy Sopwith Triplane displayed at Old Warden. This aircraft was built by the Northern Aeroplane Workshops to the Sopwith factory design plans and is identical in structure to the original triplanes. Sir Thomas Sopwith declared it to be a "late Production" triplane and allocated to it a Sopwith production number. The triplane is powered by an original Clerget rotary engine. The Sopwith Triplane was a single-seat fighter used by the Royal Naval Air Service during the First World War.
Please note: This photoset has been scanned at a far higher resolution than I have used in the past. CD orders will receive the uncompressed maximum-resolution images while email-delivered orders will continue to receive compressed images at the regular size due to file size restrictions for email. Prices remain unchanged.
