The Woodvale Rally is the premier model flying event in North-West England. As well as being a first-class model flying display, the event hosts radio-control scale competitions to International Open Scale rules and the BMFA Northern Area Stand-Off Scale rules. The competition is open to all and there is no entry fee. This event attracts a wide range of entrants, from local modellers to internationally recognised competitors, but nobody should be put off by thinking their models are not of a high enough standard. The Stand-Off Scale rules in particular are designed to encourage participation by modellers at all skill levels. I would encourage anybody with a scale model who is looking to increase the excitement and pleasure to be gained from model flying to enter this event. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the whole experience is very enjoyable. It certainly beats flying around aimlessly at your local club field.
